Typically, things always come along together, especially after a long gap. This month we have two exciting cookery classes on offer. One is a Moroccan workshop and the second is a timely vegetarian BBQ grill class. The first one is from Victoria Putt-Gillin and Sherri, who cooked for the group last summer at Victoria’s home in Parcent. She has now moved to Denia and has asked if any members of our group would like to participate in a workshop. We need a minimum of ten people with a maximum of 16. It is an incredible price for such an enjoyable class and it is bound to be fun with Victoria, so don’t miss out on the opportunity! We can discuss the date and time once I know who wants to come along. Below are the details that Victoria sent to me.

Moroccan Chopped Salad
Moroccan Bean Stew, cooked in a Tagine
The food which will be made from scratch on the day, and involves the group getting “hands on” if they like.
Once prepared and cooked, the meal will be eaten as a group. There will also be Moroccan Bread, Olives and Nuts.
The Stew can be eaten direct from the Tagine which is Traditional.
Sherri will also provide lots of information about Moroccan Cookery and Culture.
The food will be cooked in front of you and full recipe sheets will be provided.

The vegetarian BBQ grill school is offered by the BBQ Shop in Calpe and the chef is Christopher Bell. It is part of a series.
The date for the vegetarian workshop is the 16th April. Full details can be found on their website and Facebook page,
together with booking information, so anyone can do this directly – you don’t have to come through Montgó Vegetarians.
The menu looks great and it must be a unique opportunity to learn how to cook vegetarian food on a BBQ.

BBQ Cauliflower and Chickpea Tacos with a creamy lime slaw or citrus, avocado salsa
Roasted Sweet Potato and bean Quesadillas
Baked Garlic Parmesan potato wedges
Pizza topped with:
Spinach, feta and garlic confit
Mushrooms and goats cheese
Asparagus, smoked cheese and sunny egg
BBQ Onion Steaks with Honey-Mustard Sauce
Chestnut mushroom mini-burgers with Blue cheese and sautéed red onions
Giant Choc chip cookie in a skillet served with cointreau crème fraiche or cream

Neil, the owner, is really looking forward to welcoming us to his restaurant and Fran, his vegetarian partner, is over
the moon because she has been influencing and promoting the vegetarian dishes on their regular menu.
