Vegetarian-friendly shops on the Costa Blanca
Country Life is a German run store with English spoken, selling fresh
veg, pulses, grains, seeds, nuts, oils etc. Also fresh tofu and tofu products, and soya milk
and yogurt. Fresh bread too. They stock a good range of quality/organic vitamins and food
supplements, and also have gluten-free foods. Their Taifun smoked tofu is specially recommended, as is
the silken tofu.
Opposite Pepe La Sal on the Moraira-Calpe road (CV746)
http://www.bio-countrylife.com/ (in German)
nb they have some slightly strange opening hours, closed on Saturdays and also closed Fridays after
2pm.

In Javea Port at Calle Andrés Llambert, 4 y 6, this shop has a good range of vegetarian provisions
including organic pulses and food supplements, including unusual items such as miso, tamari, sea vegetables etc.
There is a small fridge with organic items, soya yoghurt, varying tofu and occasionally tempeh, as well as a
limited range of fresh organic produce
Supercor is one of the few supermarkets that sell some tofu/vegetarian foods, as
well as being a good source of some foods less common in Spain such as watercress, pinenuts (at a
price!) On Avenida del Pla, Javea
Almost opposite Supercor, Iceland Overseas is a good supplier of frozen veggie
stuff such as quorn, Linda Macartney sausages, ready meals... more competitively priced than in little expat
shop locally. They also carry a range of imported cheeses, including one of very few places we have
found halloumi.

A little further afield, Alahama in Altea has a great range of organic food, personal care and
supplements. Ingo, the German owner, speaks English and Spanish and can be found with organic fruit and veg
and a small selection of stock (rice, oils, bread etc) in the Tuesday market
