It's been a while since we last sampled the high-quality and creative fayre on offer at La Cocina
in Javea Port, and they have come up with a beautiful menu for us to enjoy this springtime. La Cocina fuse the best
of national and regional cuisine with an international perspective and influence, to create delicious dishes... and
they are always keen to come up with an imaginative vegetarian choice. It's a friendly, family-run establishment,
and we can watch our meals being prepared from the freshest ingredients in the open kitchen. See what you think of

STARTERS
Judías Blancas a la Catalana ~ Catalan Style White Beans
Baked creamy Catalan style white beans with onions wine, parsley and a little cumin
Coca de Champiñones ~ Coca with Mushrooms
Coca, a traditional flat bread from Mallorca, topped with creamy mushrooms with parmesan and parsley
Coca de Mango y Queso Azul ~ Coca with Mango and French Blue Cheese
Traditional Mallorcan flat bread topped with homemade mango chutney, gouda and blue cheese from the Auvergne
Ensalada La Cocina ~ House Salad
Chunky green salad and garden leaves, dressed with a delicious vinaigrette made with sherry vinegar, Montgó honey,
dijon mustard and cold pressed arbequina olive oil. Served with caper berries and small pink onions
Queso de Cabra al Horno con Mermelada ~ Baked Goats Cheese with Prune and Orange
Relish
Goats cheese topped with bread crumbs and parmesan, baked and served on a bed of lettuce with walnuts, a little
vinaigrette and topped with homemade prune and orange relish

Creamy mushrooms with parmesan and onions baked in a puff pastry basket
Arroz Meloso con Azafrán ~ Valencian Saffron Rice
Our versión of a moist local rice dish, similar to a risotto, made with Valencian rice, saffron infused rose wine,
tomatoes and parsley
Lasagna con Espinaca y Piñones ~ Spinach and Pine Nut Lasagne
Wilted spinach with pine nuts, onions and a touch of cream, layered with pasta sheets and topped with a creamy
béchamel sauce
DESSERTS
Cremosa de Limón ~ Lemon Cream
Creamy lemon dessert made with lemons from Jávea, topped with toasted coconut shavings
Tarta de Chocolate ~ Chocolate Cake
Deliciously rich made with ground almonds, covered with a 70% chocolate ganache and served on a little raspberry

Copa de Frambuesa ~ Raspberry Cup
Raspberries cooked with a splash of crème de cassis and covered with crème anglaise and a sprinkling of toasted
flaked almonds
Cerezas Caliente con Helado ~ Warm Cherries with Chocolate Ice Cream
Warm cherries cooked with a touch of cassis and served with chocolate ice cream
Helado con Pasas Borrachas ~ Vanilla Ice Cream with Drunken Raisins
Vanilla ice cream sprinkled with plump raisins soaked in Pedro Ximénez

Manchego con Mermelada de Pasas y Jengibre ~ Manchego Cheese with Raisin and Ginger

Mature Manchego slices topped with a little homemade raisin and ginger relish
Includes bread and water for the table, half a bottle of house wine per person (red, white, rose or cava) and
coffee to finish.
PRICES: It has been fed back to us that not everyone wants 3 courses every time... so we have a more flexible
arrangement to offer you on this event, as follows: Main Course with either a Starter or a Dessert 20.00 €; Main
Course with a Starter as well as a Dessert 22.00 € (All prices include IVA). Good luck being noble and restrained,
with a menu like this though We won't tell, who has pudding...
